Training

The Oklahoma School Security Institute offers a catalog of training and services for education professionals, law enforcement, and emergency responders to enhance school security and safety.

OSSI offers specialized training courses and exercises for all Oklahoma public, private, non-profit, and charter schools as well as technology centers. These events can be performed on-site or regionally and provide school personnel with the information they need to maximize the effectiveness of emergency planning and school security. Professional Development Hours are provided through our partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE).

OSSI offers agency-specific training courses and exercises customized to include the schools within your jurisdiction. These events allow your agency to work with local schools through tabletop exercises and scenarios to further enhance your working relationship and prepare to better protect your students. CLEET Credits are provided through our partnership with the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET).

OSSI offers regional training courses and emergency response exercises with local schools through our partnerships with the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM). All emergency responders are welcome to attend and participate in these events.

All training courses and services offered by the OSSI are provided at No Cost.
