Technology Centers Prepare Students for College and Careers

From computers, technology and transportation to health and other career areas, Oklahoma technology center offerings are on the cutting-edge of today's job market. In addition, each technology center has different agreements with colleges that allow high school students and adults to receive college credit.

STUDENTS GET A JUMP-START ON A COLLEGE DEGREE

Oklahoma Technology Centers can give a college-bound student major advantages, such as the ability to earn college credit**, and the skills to make good money while putting yourself through school, while your peers are struggling to find enough cash for textbooks, clothes or the next cappuccino.

**Cooperative alliances exist between area technology centers and junior/community colleges and four-year universities in Oklahoma.  This partnership gives high school students and adults the opportunity to enroll in approved technology center programs and receive college credit leading toward an Associate in Applied Science degree.  Students can use cooperative alliances to go through a planned sequence of courses without having a repeat classes in college.

  • Accumulate skills needed to succeed in the workplace
  • Add experience to resumes
    *(Available only on a local basis with credit being awarded by participating higher education institutions.)

All of these goals may be accomplished, simultaneously, through career and technology education programs.
