Title IX, Part A
Supports the education and stability of children and youth experiencing homelessness through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. The program helps ensure students facing housing instability have equal access to a free, appropriate public education by removing barriers to enrollment, attendance, and academic success while promoting school stability and support services.
Student Residency Questionnaire
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Oklahoma Statute (O.S.) 70 §1210.210 requires all districts to use the Student Residency Questionnaire.
District Homeless Liaison Training
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Section 722 and Title 42 U.S.C. 11432(J)(iv) require that individuals designated as the district's homeless liaison participate in annual training.
Each district must ensure (and maintain documentation) the assigned homeless liaison completes training that meets the following requirements:
1. OSDE recommends at least 3 total hours of training each school year.
2. The training must relate to serving students experiencing homelessness.
3. Training dates for the 3 hours may not be prior to July 1 of the current school year.
