Enid News & Eagle calls for support of CareerTech

Investing in CareerTech is good for Oklahoma and its economy, the Enid News & Eagle wrote in a recent editorial.

“Oklahoma wants to be a leader in recruiting new or relocating companies. Key to that is a strong skilled labor force. CareerTech’s efforts to tailor instruction based on the needs of these companies is playing a crucial role in diversifying our state’s economy,” the newspaper wrote.

The editorial goes on to say that Oklahoma legislators should remember how CareerTech helps the state when they are working on the budget.

Francis Tuttle Tech uses heavy equipment simulator

Francis Tuttle Technology Center has added a Simlog Simulator to its heavy equipment training program.

The simulator allows students to obtain training on forklifts, skid steers and hydraulic excavators while in a classroom at the Reno Campus.

“The problem we had before is we didn’t have the equipment. Now we have the equipment on hand; you can go from the classroom, then to the simulator, and then out to the shop floor or the field for your training,” said Vernon Cole, trainer at Francis Tuttle.

The campus will also have an outdoor site where students can see how the work is done.
