Homicide
October 29, 1971
On October 29, 1971, Isaac "Mack" Watkins, age 54, was stabbed 24 times and left in the north ditch of Interstate 40, east of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Earlier the same day, Mack was returning home from a jobsite in Little Rock. He picked up a male and female hitchhiker near Morrilton, Arkansas and were last seen together in Russellville. The male was described around 22 years of age, long red hair, with a bushy mustache. His right hand was deformed in which his fingers may have been fused or grown together. He had tattoos on both arms and the word “love” on his left hand. The female was shorter than the male, about 18-20 years old with brown hair. She had a tattoo or birthmark on one of her ankles.
