Proposed Permanent Rules
The proposed rules implement legislative changes required by HB 3143 from the 2026 legislative session and clarify sections of current OMMA rules. Amendments to clarify the physician registration renewal timeline and allow laboratories to define how they will meet peak integration requirements are intended to provide additional information and flexibility.
The proposed rules also establish and clarify administrative procedures for OMMA proceedings to provide greater consistency and align processes with applicable state law. Additional amendments establish a process for interested persons to petition OMMA to promulgate, amend or repeal a rule. Other amendments correct grammatical, spelling or scrivener’s errors.
Please remember that OMMA cannot amend legislation; comments about legislation should be directed to the Legislature. Learn more about OMMA’s public comment period on our website.
