Services

Custer County Health Department is pleased to provide a variety of services across the life span.  We offer services equally to men, women, and children.  If you don't know where to turn for medical care, please call and we will try to help you find services.

We offer the following services:

Children First

Children First, Oklahoma's Nurse-Family Partnership is a voluntary family support program that offers home-based services to mothers expecting their first child. For more information click topic on left.

Communicable Disease

Recognize and prevent communicable disease outbreaks such as food and waterborne illness, tuberculosis, and childhood diseases. For more information click topic on left.

Consumer Health

Custer County Consumer Health Service protects the health of consumers and prevents disease through the licensing, inspecting, and monitoring of multiple professional, occupational and business programs. For more information click topic on left.

Dental Health

 Fluoride varnish is provided to those 18 years of age and younger. Fluoride varnish is a dental treatment that can help prevent tooth decay, slow it down, or stop it from getting worse. Fluoride varnish is made with fluoride, a mineral that can strengthen tooth enamel (outer coating on teeth). For more information click topic on left.

Family Planning

Family planning helps prevent unplanned pregnancies. We help families and individuals to plan and space their children. These services are available to both women and men. For more information click topic on left.

Guidance

The Guidance Clinic offers preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services for children with developmental, psychological, speech, language, and hearing problems.  For more information click topic on left.

Health Education

Our community health education services provide access to free health publications and presentations and classes taught by knowledgeable staff regarding a variety of health-related topics.  For more information click topic on left.

HIV/STD (STI)

Program concentrates on screening, diagnosing, educating, treating, individual case management, and referral services for those at increased risk for sexually transmitted infections.  For more information click topic on left.

Immunizations

One of the great advancements in public health over the last century has been the development of vaccines to protect individuals from serious communicable diseases.  We offer immunizations for children as well as select immunizations for adults that may require a minimum fee.  For more information click topic on left.

Medicaid Eligibility Analyst

The Custer County Health Department offers services to determine financial eligibility for low income individuals and to complete an electronic application for Oklahoma Medicaid.  For more information click topic on left.  

Rash & Head Checks

Provide nursing advice related to rash differentiation and head lice control.  For more information click topic on left.

School Health 

Custer County Health Department staff serve as consultants for local schools regarding physical and mental health. For more information click topic on left.

Screening and Special Services

Custer County Health Department provides Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening, Lead Screening and follow-up services for eligible Custer County infants, children and their families.  For more information click topic on left.

Sooner Start - EI

Sooner Start is Oklahoma’s early intervention program designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with disabilities and/or developmental delays.  For more information click topic on left.

Tuberculosis

Custer County staff identify and treat tuberculosis patients and insure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the occurrence and transmission of tuberculosis.  For more information click topic on left.

WIC

Program provides access to nutritious foods to supplement the diets of women, infants, and children. WIC offers information about healthy eating and promotes active lifestyles. For more information click topic on left.
