Mission
Goals
Established by the Oklahoma State Board of Health in 1993, the Office of Minority Health leads the state in enhancing the health status of minority and underserved populations. Through strategic partnerships, policy development, and targeted initiatives, we aim to reduce and eventually eliminate health disparities, with a special focus on health equity and social determinants of health.
Reorganized and renamed in 2018, Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) takes a comprehensive approach to addressing health disparities and promoting health equity for all Oklahomans. Aligning with the Ten Essential Public Health Services our office has since expanded to include addressing social drivers of health, increasing access to health care, forming collaborative partnerships, and promoting health equity to ensure that all Oklahomans have the opportunity to attain the best possible health – “health for all." Our vision is to provide leadership, education, and services to improve the health of individuals, families, and communities, ensuring that all Oklahomans enjoy longer, healthier lives.
- Address Social Determinants of Health: Focus on factors such as education, employment, and environment that impact health outcomes.

- Collaborate With Partners: Engage with local, state, and national partners to create a unified approach to health equity.
- Educate and Advocate: Raise awareness and advocate for policies that support health equity and address health disparities.
