Family Planning and Birth Control
The Oklahoma Family Planning Program is devoted to providing family planning services to females and males of reproductive age.
Services for females include:
- physical examination
- pap smears and breast exams
- screening for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV
- birth control
- pregnancy diagnosis
- counseling and referrals
Services for males include:
- physical examination
- instructions in testicular self-exams
- examination of the prostate, as appropriate
- screening for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV
- education and counseling on methods to prevent pregnancy
- counseling and referrals
The program helps males and females make informed decisions regarding family planning, being healthy and making good lifestyle choices. The program also promotes family involvement and provides community-based education and outreach activities. Services are provided on a voluntary and confidential basis, and services will not be refused based on inability to pay.
