Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters

You have expressed interest in becoming a Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter temporary permit holder. To be eligible for a Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter Temporary Permit, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Submit an affidavit of lawful presence.
  • Correctly complete a temporary permit application.
  • Submit the required $15.00 application fee.
  • Complete training under the direct on-site supervision of an Oklahoma Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter-licensed sponsor until all parts of the practical exam have been passed.
  • Continue to receive indirect supervision from sponsor until fully licensed.
  • Become fully licensed within 12 months (a one-time extension may be granted).

You have expressed interest in becoming a Licensed Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter. To be eligible for a Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter license, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Submit an affidavit of lawful presence.
  • Submit a correctly completed license application through the licensing portal and submit the required $50.00 application fee.
  • Submit to a background check.
  • Complete training with a sponsor.
  • Receive an examination readiness attestation form from your sponsor prior to taking the practical examination.
  • Pass the practical and written examinations.
