The Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS) is operated by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and provides a secure, centralized repository of primary-source verified physician credentials. The applicant pays a fee to create a profile that works to streamline and expedite licensure processes by keeping their education, training, examination history, etc. on file.

OSBOE has a designated application for those physicians who have, or are in the process of creating, an FCVS profile. 

While this application gathers the same information as the standard application, it indicates to the licensing team that the applicant has a profile that will be sent to OSBOE.

This is an option that can be selected. An FCVS profile is not required for licensure with OSBOE.

NOTE: FSMB has indicated that FCVS profiles take an average of 20-35 days to process.  Please take the time period into account when determining which OSBOE application to choose if you do not already have a profile created.
