Application Process

The below outlines the application process and what is required from each application type.

Reach out to the office with any questions regarding these requirements.

Submitting an Application

After selecting the appropriate application type, the applicant completes all required fields and submits the application along with the required fee.

The application fee can be paid via credit card or check.  If paid via check, processing will not begin until payment is received.

Required Documentation Submittal

Each application begins with an instruction page outlining which documents must be submitted by the applicant and which must be requested from third-party entities. All third-party documents are considered primary source documents and must be sent directly from the originating entity.

Documentation required for each application is included below.

Application Review

Once submitted, the licensing team reviews the application and updates any outstanding requirements in the application portal. Applicants are responsible for regularly checking the portal and monitoring the status of their application with OSBOE.

Applicants may receive emails that originate from the application portal.  These are important and should not be ignored.

License Issuance

Licenses are typically issued an average of 30 days from submission. However, this timeline may be extended due to extenuating circumstances such as required board appearances, applicant non-responsiveness, or delayed receipt of documentation.

No matter the issue date of a license, it will expire at the next June 30 with all other licenses issued by OSBOE.
