Background Checks

The State Board of Osteopathic Board of Examiners (OSBOE) shall require that each applicant submit to a national criminal history record check.  Below is more information on the process.

A copy of the FBI Privacy Act and Applicant Notification on Challenging their record must be provided to every applicant completing a background check for OSBOE.  Please see that attached HERE.

Applicants for Licensure

Statutory Authority - Title 59 Section 632(C)

Applicants for licensure will use the below link to IdentoGO to register and begin the fingerprint-based check.  The service code 2B7QGR must be entered so the results will be sent to OSBOE. Applicant is responsible for the fee charged.

IdentoGO

Once OSBOE receives the results, they may only be disseminated to the applicant by request and by secure means.  The results will not be emailed.

If prints are rejected, the applicant will receive an email notification to the address the registration was set at.  The applicant will need to monitor that inbox for any notifications so they can register to attempt the printing again upon rejection. If prints are rejected a second time, call OSBOE at (405) 528-8625 or email support@osboe.ok.gov to coordinate an alternate printing method.

NOTE: OSBOE accepts both live scan print checks and fingerprint card checks. If the applicant does not live near a participating location for live scan, they can register to mail in a fingerprint card to the address designated by IdentoGO. Applicants should be prepared for longer processing time with this method.

Letters of Qualification - IMLC

Statutory Authority - Title 59 Section 632(D)

Current OSBOE licensees that have applied for a Letter of Qualification (LOQ) through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) must acquire a national criminal history record check to demonstrate they do not have criminal history.

Following receival of the application through the IMLC portal, the applicant will be sent instructions to confirm eligibility for the LOQ.

Included in these instructions will be the link to IdentoGO, OSBOE's service code (2B7QGR) and a coupon code.

The applicant will need to bring the coupon code to their fingerprinting appointment as it will waive the fee for the applicant.

Following completion, the results will be provided to OSBOE for processing. As above, any rejections will be sent to the email provided at registration and an additional appointment will need to be made.
