Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry (OCCR)

The Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry (OCCR) is the central database of information on all cancers diagnosed or treated in Oklahoma since January 1, 1997. Federal Public Law 102-515, Oklahoma Statute 63 OS 1-551, and Chapter 567 OSBDH Rules and Regulations require all healthcare and health service providers to report specific information on every cancer case.

The statewide registry is a surveillance system enabling researchers, policymakers, and consumers to obtain cancer incidence and mortality data. In addition, the information allows both private and public health agencies to study cancer trends and develop cancer prevention and/or control programs based on data.

The OCCR was awarded Gold Certification from the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) and was named a CDC NPCR Registry of Distinction. These honors are based on achieving the highest standards for quality, completeness and timeliness of data collected for 1997-2021.
