(Oklahoma City) – The State Election Board has released its official pre-election voter registration report, with voter registration showing gains ahead of the General Election and steady growth for all three recognized parties in Oklahoma (Republican, Democratic, and Libertarian), as well as Independents.
More than 2.4 million voters are registered to vote in Oklahoma. This year’s report showed a net increase of more than 49,567 registered voters since January 15 and a net increase of nearly 9,110 since September 30. The State Election Board’s official pre-election voter registration statistics show the total number of registered voters to be the largest electorate to date since Oklahoma began tracking voter registration statistics.
Oklahoma’s voter registration statistics show that registered Republicans make up 53.11% of Oklahoma’s registered voters, while Democrats make up 25.56% of the state’s registration. Independents represent the third largest group of registered voters in the state, making up 20.37% of voter registration totals. Libertarians consist of nearly one-percent of the state’s registration at 0.97%, but numbers continue to steadily increase each year.
“I am excited to see Oklahomans exercising their right and registering to vote, but we need to keep up the momentum. I encourage all registered voters to take the next step and get out and vote,” said Paul Ziriax, Secretary of the State Election Board.
