Information and Records Requests
Oklahoma’s Open Records Act [Title 51, O.S., §§ 24A.1 – 24A.31] requires an agency to provide “prompt, reasonable access” to records while employing procedures to protect the integrity and organization of the records and to prevent excessive disruption of the agency’s essential function, which is to conduct elections and certify results.
The most commonly requested information is currently available on our website including historical election results and voter registration statistics. (You do not need to submit an Open Records request to access this information.) Voter registration records, including voter history can be accessed through the OK Election Data Warehouse.
For records not available on our website, you may submit a request to the State Election Board.
Exemptions or exceptions, particularly those that may present a potential security threat, may shield a public record from disclosure.
Under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, our agency is not required to create special or custom reports, or organize data to fulfill public requests. Please keep in mind, all of our reports are built and organized to accommodate the conduct of business within our agency.
There is no fee for information that is readily available and sent electronically. Fees may apply to requests that require additional research, resources, supplies, and/or are delivered non-electronically. Paper copies of records are subject to a fee of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page for records 8 ½ X 14 inches or smaller. Certified copies 8 ½ X 14 inches or smaller may be subject to a fee of one dollar ($1.00) per page.
