Information and Records Requests

Oklahoma’s Open Records Act [Title 51, O.S., §§ 24A.1 – 24A.31] requires an agency to provide “prompt, reasonable access” to records while employing procedures to protect the integrity and organization of the records and to prevent excessive disruption of the agency’s essential function, which is to conduct elections and certify results.

The most commonly requested information is currently available on our website including historical election results and voter registration statistics. (You do not need to submit an Open Records request to access this information.) Voter registration records, including voter history, can be accessed through the OK Election Data Warehouse.

For records not available on our website, you will need to submit an Open Records request to the State Election Board using the Open Records Request Form provided below.

NOTE: We can process requests pertaining only to records of the Oklahoma State Election Board. If you seek records from another public body, please direct that request to the specific public body.

Sensitive Information

Exemptions or exceptions, particularly those that may present a potential security threat, may shield a public record from disclosure.

Custom Reports

Under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, our agency is not required to create special or custom reports or organize data to fulfill public requests. Please keep in mind, all of our reports are built and organized to accommodate the conduct of business within our agency.

If the responsive records require the agency to use a mechanical storage device, requestor will be charged the actual cost of the device (CD, DVD, USB or external hard drive). If the responsive records require mailing, the requestor is responsible for the actual cost of shipping and handling which will be sent via certified mail.

All fees must be paid in full by cashier's check, certified check, or money order, payable to Oklahoma State Election Board, before the material is reviewed or copies are delivered. Cash or credit cannot be accepted.

This schedule of the fees is posted at the principal office of the agency and with the Oklahoma County Clerk in accordance with 51 O.S. Section 24A.5.
