(Oklahoma City) – State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax announced today that in-person absentee voting (also known as “early voting”) for the November 3 General Election begins Wednesday across the state. Early voting locations will be open Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Saturday, October 31 (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
Secretary Ziriax encourages voters to make a plan to vote. “With four days of early voting and Election Day on Tuesday, there are plenty of opportunities for voters to cast their ballot. Remember, no excuse is needed to vote early. However, you will need to complete an in-person absentee ballot application when you check in at your early voting location.”
Voters are reminded that this is a general election, which means that voters may vote for any candidate of their choice regardless of their party affiliation or non-affiliation. In addition to state and federal candidate elections, two state questions will also appear on the November 3 ballot – State Question 845 and State Question 847 – as well as judicial retention questions. Additionally, some voters may have county questions, local propositions, or local candidate elections on the ballot.
The election list is available on the State Election Board website. Sample ballots can be viewed and downloaded by logging into the OK Voter Portal.
Voters are reminded that early voting locations are different from polling places. Each county has at least one early voting location, although some larger counties may have more than one location. A list of early voting locations is available on the State Election Board website. Voters must vote in the county where they are registered.
Voters with questions should contact their County Election Board or the State Election Board at (405) 521-2391 or info@elections.ok.gov for more information.
