(Oklahoma City) – Two important deadlines are approaching for the November 3 General Election – the voter registration deadline and the deadline to request an absentee ballot.
VOTER REGISTRATION
The deadline to register to vote or update your registration before the General Election is Friday, October 9. There are three ways to register: online, in person, and by mail.
ONLINE
Applicants can register online through the OK Voter Portal’s Online Voter Registration System. State law requires applicants to provide a current and valid Oklahoma Driver License number or State ID number to submit the application electronically. The information provided must exactly match what is on file with Service Oklahoma. The address on the identification card must also match the address intended for voter registration.
IN PERSON
Applicants can apply for voter registration in person at their County Election Board office, local tag agency, or Service Oklahoma location.
BY MAIL
Applicants can download a Voter Registration Application from the State Election Board website and mail the application to their County Election Board. Applications are also available at most tag agencies, post offices, and libraries. Mailed applications must be post-marked on or before October 9.
ABSENTEE VOTING
Those who need to request an absentee ballot for the November 3 election have until 5 p.m., October 19.
Voters can request an absentee ballot by logging into the OK Voter Portal or by completing the Absentee Ballot Application and submitting it by email, mail, fax, or in person to their County Election Board. Absentee ballot applications can be downloaded from the State Election Board website or obtained from the voter’s County Election Board.
Applicants who need to register to vote/update their registration and request an absentee ballot may submit their applications together.
Voters with questions about registering to vote or requesting an absentee ballot should contact their County Election Board or the State Election Board. More information about registering to vote, updating your voter registration, and applying for an absentee ballot can be found on the State Election Board website at https://oklahoma.gov/elections.html.
