Temporary Establishment License

Applicants hosting the temporary establishment must be affiliated with a body piercing or tattoo establishment that has a current license.

Temporary Establishment licenses can only be issued for the following purposes:

  • Product demonstration
  • Industry trade shows
  • Educational reasons
  • Event or celebration where the primary function is body piercing or tattooing

A temporary establishment must meet the standards for establishments as set forth by Oklahoma Administrative Code 310:233, specifically 233-7-1 and 2.

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed Temporary Establishment Application
  • Names and license numbers of participating artists (this does not have to be a finalized list at the time of submission)
  • Event floor plan (see below)
  • License fee (Body Piercing - $250 / Tattoo - $500)

The Event Floor Plan should specify the following:

  • Locations and square footage of each work station
  • Locations of all hand washing stations – approximately one (1) hand washing sink, complete with soap and disposable towels, per ten (10) artists
  • Location and means to sterilize any reusable equipment

Applicants must submit all paperwork and documentation to the Consumer Protection Division at least 30 days prior to the requested license date. It is suggested, however, that submissions be made 90 days prior to the requested license date.

A temporary establishment license is valid for no more than three (3) consecutive days.
