2026 Election Notice for Uniformed Services and Overseas Voters

The State of Oklahoma will hold a Statewide Primary Election on June 16, 2026, for candidates seeking the following offices:

• U.S. Senator (1 office)
• U.S. Representative (5 offices)
• Governor
• Lieutenant Governor
• Attorney General
• State Treasurer
• Superintendent of Public Instruction
• State Auditor and Inspector
• Commissioner of Labor
• Insurance Commissioner
• Corporation Commissioner (1 office)
• District Attorney (one elected from each of 27 districts)
• State Senator (24 offices) (even-numbered districts)
• State Representative (101 offices)
• State Senator, District 17 (Special Election – unexpired term)
• State Representative, District 92 (Special Election – unexpired term)

District Judges and Associate District Judges will be on the ballot.

The offices of County Treasurer, County Assessor, and County Commissioner (Districts 1 and 3) will be on the ballot. Some counties may also have special candidate elections for: County Commissioner (District 2), County Court Clerk, County Clerk, or County Sheriff.

State Question 832 will also appear on the June 16 election ballot.

Candidates who wish to appear on the ballot for the Primary Election in June will file Declarations of Candidacy at the appropriate election board on Wednesday, April 1 through Friday, April 3, 2026, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The list of state and federal candidates will be made available in the Candidate Filing Portal on the State Election Board website. The list of county candidates will also be available on the State Election Board website. 

Eligible Uniformed Services and overseas voters who are not registered in Oklahoma may register to vote and request absentee ballots using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). The FPCA and submission instructions can be found on the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website. Applicants may submit the FPCA by mail, e-mail, or fax to the County Election Board in their county of residence. Contact information for each County Election Board is available on the FVAP website.

Eligible Uniformed Services and overseas voters who are registered to vote in Oklahoma and wish to receive absentee ballots for the June Primary Election may submit an Absentee Ballot Application electronically through the Oklahoma Voter Portal or by completing the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA).

All Absentee Ballot Applications must be received by the appropriate County Election Board or the State Election Board no later than 5 p.m. (CST), Monday, June 1, 2026. If you are applying for both voter registration and absentee ballots, the deadline to register to vote is Friday, May 22, 2026.

Those eligible for Uniformed Services and overseas absentee ballots are encouraged to have absentee ballots electronically delivered to them to allow enough time to receive, vote, and submit their ballot. Those who do not receive their absentee ballot or are concerned that their ballot may not arrive in time, may opt to submit a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), which is available on the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website.

To use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), voters will mark the ballot with their choice for each office, question, and/or proposition on the ballot using their sample ballot as a guide, which is available in the OK Voter Portal. A sample ballot may also be obtained from the voter’s County Election Board or the State Election Board by email. Voters may also use the election list found on the State Election Board website. Voters should include the name of the 1) office, 2) district number (if applicable), and/or 3) the name of the candidate for whom they wish to vote on the FWAB. If the voter receives the requested absentee ballot after submitting a FWAB, the voter should still vote and submit their requested absentee ballot. Only one ballot will be counted.

Voters are reminded that Oklahoma is a closed primary state. In order to vote in a party’s primary or runoff primary, you must be a member of that party. However, every two years, state law allows all recognized parties in Oklahoma to open their primaries to Independent voters. Please note that no recognized political parties have authorized Independent voters to participate in their primary elections in 2026 and 2027.
