Information to assist you in writing your grant application, including Federal grant application assistance.

  • Getting Setup in Grants.gov
    • Obtaining a DUNS Number: This will show you the steps to take to apply for your DUNS Number. This is your first step in applying for federal grants through grant.gov.
    • SAM.gov: You must have your DUNS Number and your Federal Employee Number to set up your account in SAM.gov.
    • User ID and Password: Once you are registered in SAM.gov, you can set up your user ID and password in grants.gov.
    • EBIZ Password: Your EBIZ Point of Contact has the authorizing authority for your agency in grants.gov.
    • Tracking Your Status: Once you apply for grants through grants.gov, you can track the status of these grants by following these simple steps.
  • Federal Grant Resources
    • Abstract/Summary: A sample of the type of information that may be required in the proposed project's abstract or summary. Most abstracts or summaries are one page long and the Request for Proposal (RFP) will direct what information must be included. Most often, the following information is common in an abstract/summary: Applicant Name, information about the project goals and objectives, number of clients to be served, target service area, list of partners, total budget amount, and list of activities to be offered
    • Sample MOU: A sample Memorandum of Understanding that may be required when applying for a grant
    • Sample GEPA Compliance: A sample of how to complete a request for compliance with General Provision 427
    • Sample Cover Letter: A sample cover letter to send with your grant application if submitting by ground delivery
