Stable Account Eligibility with the Oklahoma Able Program

To be eligible for a Stable account through OK Able, you or the beneficiary must:

  • Be a resident of Oklahoma;
  • Be blind or have a medically determinable physical or mental impairment resulting in marked and severe functional limitations, such condition developed before the age of 26 and will last, or has lasted at least a year;
  • Confirm one of the following:
    • Eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) because of a disability;
    • Have a condition listed on the Social Security Administration's "list of compassionate allowances conditions;
    • Experience blindness as determined by the Social Security Act;
    • Provide if requested, a received signed diagnosis of the qualifying disability from a licensed physician.

Who can open a Stable Account?

If you or the beneficiary are over the age of 18 and can manage the account. If you're the Authorized Legal Representative (ALR) and can attest selection by eligible beneficiary with legal capacity, in order of priority:

  • Power of Attorney
  • Conservator or legal guardian
  • Spouse, parent, sibling, grandparent
  • Representative payee, individual or organization
