Now, Oklahoma residents have the option to add their Driver License (DL) or Identification card (ID) to Google Wallet and can present it easily and securely in person and in app.

 

Digital ID in Google Wallet provides an easy, private and secure way for residents to present their Oklahoma Digital ID in person at businesses and organizations with compatible mobile ID readers and in select apps that require identity or age verification. Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet can also be used at select TSA airport security checkpoints. Visit TSA.gov for the most up-to-date support for Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet.

  

When presenting your Oklahoma Digital ID, only the information needed for the transaction is presented, and the user has the opportunity to review and authorize the information being requested with Face ID or Touch ID before it is shared. Users can choose to review the personal information requested before it is released. Users do not need to unlock, show or hand over their device to present their Digital ID.

No, Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet does not replace your physical Driver License or State ID card, and you should continue to carry your physical card. Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet is voluntary and serves as an easy, private and secure companion to your physical, plastic Driver License or State ID card.

There is no cost associated with adding or using your Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet.

This process generally takes a relatively short period of time. If Service Oklahoma needs to gather more information, you will receive a notification with next steps, which may take a little longer.


Adding Digital ID to Google Wallet

To add your Driver License or State ID to your Google Wallet: 

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Wallet app or download it on Google Play.

  2. Tap Add to Wallet.

  3. Tap ID Card and choose Oklahoma.

  4. Follow the instructions to verify your Driver License or State ID with Service Oklahoma.

After your request has been approved, you will see your Oklahoma Driver License or State ID in the Google Wallet app.

Yes, your Oklahoma Driver License or State ID card can be added on up to two phones at a time. Just make sure all your devices use the same Google account.

To enroll and use Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet, you need: 

  • A valid Oklahoma Driver License or State ID card

  • A phone with Android 9 or higher

  • An authentication method for your device

  • Bluetooth and Nearby devices enabled

  • Your device’s region set to United States

If you wish to remove the Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet from your device, you may delete directly from the Google Wallet app or remotely from your Google Account. 

 

In the Google Wallet app, select your Oklahoma Digital ID and follow these steps: 

  1. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.

  2. Tap Remove and confirm.

To remove your Oklahoma Digital ID from your Android device and Google Wallet remotely: 

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com.

  2. Open the Personal Info tab.

  3. Scroll down to Digital ID which shows which credentials are on your Android devices.

  4. Select Manage Digital ID.

    1. The page will show that there is a Driver License added to your Google Wallet but will NOT display your ID details. Your ID details are not visible to Google.
  5. Click on the trash bin icon to remotely delete the credential from your device.

  6. You will be shown a screen asking you to confirm that your ID will be deleted from your device and can be added again in the Google Wallet app.

  7. After confirmation, your Digital ID will be deleted from your device and Google Account.

No, you are not required to have a REAL ID to add your Driver License or State ID to Google Wallet.

You will need to remove your Driver License or State ID card from your previous device and then add your Driver License or State ID card to your new phone. You will also need to do this if you want to associate your Driver License or State ID card with a different Google Account.

You can open the Google Wallet app and begin a new Oklahoma Digital ID request if you removed the Digital ID from your device but would like it back.

The verification process involves capturing a photo of the front and back of your physical card. If you don't have one, you can visit Navigate online or find a Service Oklahoma location nearest you to request a replacement.

Make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements listed in the Google Wallet Help Center.

When scanning your ID's barcode, follow these tips: 

  • Keep the card steady or place it on a flat surface.

  • Scan the card in a well-lit location and place your card on top of a dark background.

  • Make sure the barcode is clearly visible. Zoom in on the barcode if needed.

  • Make sure your Google Wallet app is up to date. You may need to restart your phone after you update.

Please note: Oklahoma Digital ID is only available to individuals with a current, valid Oklahoma Driver License or State ID.

You may be prompted to also complete a series of facial or head movements to verify your identity. For example, you might be asked to smile or turn your head to the right. If you're asked to complete these movements, hold each movement until your phone vibrates.

 

To help this process, stand in front of a plain background, like a wall with neutral paint. Make sure that you're in a well-lit area with even lighting. Indoors works best. Take off any sunglasses, masks, hats or other accessories.

 

Hold your phone as steady as possible.

After the initial request, you may see a screen that says, “Verification in Progress”. You might see this notification if Service Oklahoma needs to gather additional information before approving your Digital ID.

 

This process generally takes a relatively short period of time. You can expect to receive a letter in the mail with a confirmation code, which you can use in Navigate to confirm your identity and finish your Digital ID request.

Try to submit the request again. When performing the facial and head movements, please ensure you are in a brightly lit room with an even background.

Using Oklahoma Digital ID

Information is all shared digitally, so you do not need to show or hand over your device to present your ID in Google Wallet. 

Present with NFC 
  1. Ensure that NFC and Bluetooth are enabled on your device.

  2. Unlock and hold the top of your device near the identity reader.

    1. Your device screen displays the information that will be shared.
  3. Authenticate to verify it’s you.

  4. A checkmark will appear when you have successfully presented your Digital ID.

Present with QR 
  1. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device.

  2. Open up Google Wallet and select your Oklahoma Digital ID.

  3. Tap View Code to bring up the QR code.

  4. Scan the code on the identity reader.

    1. Your device screen displays the information that will be shared.
  5. Authenticate to verify it’s you.

  6. A checkmark will appear when you have successfully presented your Digital ID.

Yes, you should always carry the mobile or physical copy of the boarding pass with the Digital ID in Google Wallet. For additional verification, a TSA Officer can ask to see your mobile or physical boarding pass. In some instances, customers may still need to undergo enhanced screening, even if you have the Oklahoma Digital ID.

You can present your Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet in person at businesses and organizations with compliant Digital ID readers. You can also present your Digital ID in select apps that require identity or age verification. 

 

Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet is also accepted at select airport checkpoints around the country, determined by TSA. Please visit the TSA website for the most up to date support for Digital ID in Google Wallet.  

 

Oklahoma Digital ID in Google Wallet is a companion to your physical, plastic Driver License or State ID card, which you should continue to carry.


Security and Privacy

Adding your Oklahoma Driver License or State ID in Google Wallet is voluntary. If you are not interested in adding your DL or State ID to your device, there is nothing you need to do.

Google Wallet keeps your ID safe with advanced security built right into your Android phone. When you add your ID to Wallet, the information is stored and encrypted so it stays secure.
