Service Oklahoma Expands Access with Seasonal Saturdays and More Convenient Driver License Services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 13, 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY – Service Oklahoma is making it easier for Oklahomans to obtain a REAL ID and other essential driver license services by expanding Seasonal Saturday hours at key locations across the state. As the May 7, 2025, REAL ID deadline approaches, these extended weekend hours provide a critical option for residents who need services outside of regular business hours.

In the first weekend, more than 540 customers have already taken advantage of these extended hours, highlighting the strong demand for Saturday service.

Seasonal Saturdays Provide More Flexibility for Oklahomans
To accommodate the expected seasonal surge, Service Oklahoma has expanded Saturday service at select locations across the state. These locations join the existing year-round Saturday availability at OKC Classen and Tulsa Eastgate, ensuring more citizens have access to services when they need them.

Seasonal Saturday Locations (8 a.m. – 1 p.m., March through October):

  • OKC Classen (6015 N Classen Blvd, Building 4)
  • OKC I-240 (728 E Interstate 240 Service Rd.)
  • Tulsa Eastgate (14002 East 21st Street)
  • Broken Arrow (1635 S Main St.)

With the May 7, 2025, REAL ID deadline approaching, Seasonal Saturdays provide a convenient opportunity for Oklahomans to apply for their REAL ID without disrupting their workweek.

“With the upcoming REAL ID deadline on May 7, 2025, we know many Oklahomans are looking for flexible options to update their driver licenses,” said Jay Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Service Oklahoma. “Expanding Seasonal Saturday service allows us to meet customers where they are, offering services when they need them most, outside of traditional business hours.”

To make the most of their visit, customers can check wait times, find the nearest location with the shortest wait and get in line remotely at service.ok.gov/locations

REAL ID Deadline: Less Than 2 Months Away
Oklahomans are reminded that beginning May 7, 2025, a REAL ID-compliant driver license or identification card (or another federally accepted form of identification such as a passport) may be required for domestic flights within the U.S. and accessing certain federal buildings and military bases.

To apply for a REAL ID, Oklahomans can:

  1. Use the REAL ID Checklist to determine required documents at service.ok.gov/REALID
  2. Find the nearest location and check wait times at service.ok.gov/locations
  3. Get in line remotely to save time at Service Oklahoma locations using the online check-in system

Expanding Services to Meet Oklahomans Where They Are
Alongside Seasonal Saturdays, Service Oklahoma continues to introduce improvements that make driver license services faster and more accessible for Oklahomans.

Dedicated Drive Test Centers Reduce Wait Times
Service Oklahoma now offers two dedicated Drive Test Centers—one in Oklahoma City and one in Broken Arrow—designed to help new drivers complete their drive tests quickly and efficiently.

These locations only administer drive tests, reducing wait times and ensuring drivers can test and be on their way as quickly as possible. After passing their test, drivers will receive their new license in the mail. Oklahomans can check availability and join the waitlist online, saving even more time, at service.ok.gov/drivetestcenter

Sweet Sixteen Guarantee Ensures Teens Can Test on Their Birthday
The Sweet Sixteen Guarantee ensures that eligible 16-year-olds can schedule a guaranteed drive test appointment on their birthday, seven days a week, including Sundays, or the first day they are eligible.

To qualify for a Sweet Sixteen Drive Test appointment, teens must:

  • Have completed the free online Work Zone Safe Course
