Designators

Credential Designators

Optional designators can be added to an Oklahoma Driver License or State ID to communicate important information during official interactions, such as traffic stops, emergencies or identity verification.

Depending on the designation, information may appear on the physical credential, be securely shared with law enforcement systems, or both. Participation is voluntary, and some designators may require additional documentation or verification.

Autism

Identifies that the individual is on the autism spectrum and may benefit from communication accommodations or additional patience during interactions. This designation is intended to support awareness, reduce misunderstandings and encourage informed responses from law enforcement, emergency responders and public service personnel. To add a designation to your credential, download the required application form and complete a renewal or replacement transaction in-person or through Navigate Online.

Epilepsy

Indicates the individual has epilepsy or a seizure-related condition. The designation can help law enforcement, emergency responders and medical personnel recognize the possibility of a medical episode and encourage more informed, appropriate and safe responses during emergencies or interactions with officials. To add the designation to your credential, download the required application form and complete a renewal or replacement transaction in-person or through Navigate Online.

Organ Donor

Allows individuals to voluntarily indicate their decision to become an organ, eye and tissue donor on their Oklahoma driver license or state ID. This optional designation helps medical professionals quickly recognize a person’s intent to support lifesaving donation efforts. One registered donor can save up to eight lives, restore sight to two people and help heal up to 75 others through tissue donation. You can add, update or remove your organ donor status during an online renewal or replacement transaction in-person or through Navigate Online.

Veteran

Indicates the license holder has verified prior service in the United States Armed Forces. The designation can help veterans conveniently confirm military status for identification purposes, access veteran-related services or discounts and reduce the need to carry additional military documentation. You can add, update or remove your Veteran status during an online renewal or replacement transaction in-person or through Navigate Online.

100% Disabled Veteran

Identifies a veteran with a verified service-connected disability designation. This designator may assist with eligibility verification for certain state or federal programs, accommodations exemptions or veteran support services while providing a convenient form of identification.  You can add, update or remove your 100% Veteran status during an online renewal or replacement transaction in-person or through Navigate Online.

Hearing Impairment

Indicates the individual is deaf or hard of hearing and may require alternative communication methods. This optional designation can help improve communication, accessibility and safety during interactions with  emergency responders, government agencies and other public-facing services. The designation can currently only be added during an in-person renewal or replacement transaction at a Service Oklahoma or Licensed Operator location.
