Public Access Counselor

The Public Access Counselor position was created in March 2023 when Attorney General Gentner Drummond appointed former State Sen. Anthony Sykes to the position. It is the goal of the Public Access Counselor to ensure that public bodies in Oklahoma comply with Oklahoma’s Open Meetings and Open Records Acts and is part of General Drummond’s commitment to increasing transparency in Oklahoma. Individuals who believe that a public body is failing to comply with Oklahoma’s Open Meetings or Open Records Act may contact the Office of Attorney General at opengov@oag.ok.gov.
