Sick & Annual Leave

Employees accrue 15 days/year of sick leave. Your annual leave accrual rate is based on your years of state service, detailed in the chart below.

Insurance Benefits

Insurance Plans

We offer 6 health plans, 10 dental plans, 4 vision plans, disability, life insurance, as well as Section 125 cafeteria plan flexible spending (FSA) and health savings (HSA) accounts.

Monthly Benefit Allowance

Employees also receive a monthly benefit allowance as part of their gross income. The benefit allowance amount is based on dependents that are covered on health insurance. The chart below lists each benefit allowance amount provided.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Office provides short-term interventions and resource referral assistance to state employees and their families seeking help with challenges related to mental health and/or substance use, emotional, gambling, marital, family relations, financial, work-related issues, stress, grief/loss or other personal problems through Counselors and Therapists.

Longevity

The State of Oklahoma offers longevity pay based on seniority to qualified employees. This yearly bonus starts after 2 years of employment and will be paid each year going forward in your anniversary month.

For each additional two years of service after the first 20 years, an additional $200.00 shall be added to the amount stated above for 20 years of service.

Retirement

We offer two very generous retirement plans for employees to participate in. An employee’s initial date of in Oklahoma state government determines the plan they will participate in. 

OPERS Defined Benefit Plan

OPERS members may also participate in SoonerSave, which is a voluntary deferred compensation (457) and Savings Incentive 401(a) plan.

Pathfinder Savings Plan

The Pathfinder Plan consists of a 401(a) plan for mandatory contributions plus a 457(b) plan for additional voluntary contributions.
