OKLAHOMA CITY (June 22, 2026) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is asking the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board to deny clemency for convicted murderer Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez, who was sentenced to death for brutally murdering Olimpia Fisher in 2003.
Cuesta-Rodriguez stalked and abused the mother of two for months before shooting her twice in the face and killing her at their home in Oklahoma City. Fisher’s 18-year-old pregnant daughter was just a few feet away when the first shot was fired through her mother’s right eye. About eight minutes later, Cuesta-Rodriguez fired the fatal shot through her left eye.
“Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez is a violent domestic abuser and murderer who should not be granted the mercy he refused to show to Olimpia Fisher,” Drummond said. “Olimpia’s daughters and family have endured unimaginable pain for the past 23 years. I am committed to seeing that justice is done for their loved one.”
Cuesta-Rodriguez’s clemency hearing is set for July 14. His execution is set for Aug. 13.
