OKLAHOMA CITY (April 23, 2026) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond made the following remarks ahead of LeFlore County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas “Walker” LeMay’s funeral service this afternoon. Deputy LeMay was killed in the line of duty last Sunday near Wister.
“Tragedy again struck Oklahoma this week with the horrific ambush of law enforcement officers. My prayers are with Deputy LeMay’s family. He leaves behind a legacy of heroism and service.”
Wister Police Chief William “Andy” Thompson was injured in the ambush.
“My prayers continue to be with Chief Thompson for a quick and complete recovery,” Drummond added.
