Drummond announces Carolyn Thompson as new chief of staff

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 7, 2026) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond has named Carolyn Thompson to serve as the agency’s chief of staff.

Thompson has been the Attorney General Office’s director of government affairs since January 2023. From 2014 through 2022, she served as deputy chief of staff and chief of government affairs for the Oklahoma State Department of Education. In addition, Thompson served in the offices of Oklahoma’s Speaker of the House and the Lieutenant Governor.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve Attorney General Drummond and the office in a new role,” she said. “This agency does tremendous work for the people of Oklahoma and I’m proud to be a part of it. I look forward to the challenges ahead.”

Thompson succeeds Rob Johnson.
