OKLAHOMA CITY (June 13, 2025) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond made the following remarks today concerning the Board of Equalization’s meeting, where members are slated to certify changes in revenue.
“As I stated in February, I have no confidence in the Governor’s projections, which are created with no substantive input from the legislative branch and subject to manipulation to serve the Governor’s agenda. The Legislature is vested with the constitutional authority to appropriate revenue, which means it should also be deeply involved in the process of creating revenue projections. I believe increased legislative engagement will not only lead to more accurate projections, but also will strengthen transparency in the economic forecasting process.”
