Drummond comments on clemency denial for child murderer Kevin Underwood

Friday, December 13, 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 13, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond made the following comments today after the state Pardon and Parole Board rejected clemency for Kevin Underwood, the death row inmate who brutally attacked and murdered a 10-year-old girl in 2006.

“I am pleased the board voted to deny clemency for this deeply evil monster and ensured that justice will be delivered for Jamie Rose Bolin,” Drummond said. “Jamie’s family has waited 18 excruciating years for justice that finally will be carried out when this murderer is executed.”

Drummond fought to keep the execution on schedule this month after the Pardon and Parole Board delayed the initial hearing in the wake of two board members stepping down. The execution will take place as scheduled on Dec. 19.
