Garfield County Health Department is a proud participant in the Reach out and Read program, increasing the literacy of children.

Garfield County Health Department has been recognized as a breast feeding friendly work site and offers two rooms for breast feeding moms.

Garfield County Health Department also strives to ensure that our county is prepared for health related emergencies and/or catastrophic health events. Public Health preparedness plans are developed with support and assistance from local municipalities, county government, emergency management professionals, medical providers, hospitals, police, fire, EMS, school officials, tribal officials and service agencies such as the Department of Human Services, American Red Cross, and Salvation Army, to name only a few. Together, we work to develop and implement plans to ensure that Garfield County is prepared for any Public Health emergency that might arise.
