Oklahoma Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness

National Family Support Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to protect children and strengthen families. Across the country, including in Oklahoma, there is a growing emphasis on supporting the entire family as a proactive approach to preventing child abuse and neglect. This shift has inspired the addition of National Family Support Month alongside National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The Oklahoma CBCAP program is calling on partners statewide to collaborate with parents, caregivers, and communities to ensure the well-being of children and families. By working together, we can foster environments where families feel supported and empowered.

Transforming the way we deliver services and support means exploring innovative solutions, investing in family-strengthening initiatives, and ensuring equitable access to resources. Providing the right levels of support can help families overcome challenges and build resilience.

To make a difference, start by spreading awareness within your community. Educate others about the importance of family support and use the resources available on this page to engage and inspire action. Together, we can create a brighter, safer future for all children and families during National Family Support Month and beyond.
