Short Description from The Xerces Society:
The Iowa Skipper (Atrytone arogos iowa) is a small butterfly in the family Hesperiidae (skippers). Its wingspan is between 1 1/8 and 1 7/16 inches (29 to 37 mm). The upperside of the wings is yellow-orange with black borders which are wider in females. Underside of hindwing is yellow with paler veins.
Natural Habitat:
Native prairie and cross-timber areas with big bluestem and sometimes little bluestem (for larvae).
