What the Natural Resources Program is about
ODOT’s Natural Resources Program provides the department guidance and assistance with environmental initiatives and compliance under federal laws such as the Endangered Species Act, Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Clean Water Act.

Oklahoma’s diverse ecology is home to many important plants and animals. ODOT strives to be a good neighbor to all, including wildlife.
Services
- This program completes waters/wetlands assessments and biological assessments providing valuable information to designers prior to construction.
- Staff perform species surveys and work closely with construction personnel to develop species commitments.
- ODOT Natual Resources also participates in any necessary state or federal consultations regarding impacts to species or their habitats.
