The Ouachita Rock Pocketbook (Arcidens wheeleri) is a freshwater clam that has a shell length of approximately 4.5 inches, with a shape that can be described as moderately inflated and rounded. The color of the shell can vary from dark brown to black.
Natural Habitat:
Pools, backwaters and side channels in rivers, large creeks; often in association with large mixed-species mussel beds.
