• Services include health screenings, health education, school/sports physicals.
  
• Fluoride varnish to help prevent and slow tooth decay is provided to those 18 years of age and younger. 
• Insurance not required.  

Well Child Visits
Well Child Appointments are provided by our Nurse Practitioner. Services include Childhood Immunizations, School/Sports Physicals, Health Screenings, Health Education, WIC Enrollment, as well as referrals to other services and resources. Insurance is not required.

• The Health Department provides Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening, Lead Screening and follow-up services for eligible infants, children and their family.
• Child and adolescent Audiology services available.

The reproductive health program is devoted to providing family planning services to females and males of reproductive age. Services are provided on a voluntary and confidential basis, and services will not be refused based on inability to pay.  This program helps males and females make informed decisions regarding family planning, being healthy and making good lifestyle choices.  This program promotes family involvement and provides community-based education and outreach activities.

Service for females include:

• Physical examination.
• PAP smears and breast exam.
• Screening for sexually transmitted infections.
• Birth control methods include but are not limited to latex condoms, Depo-Provera injections, birth control pills, intra-uterine devices (IUD), vaginal rings, birth control patches, and hormonal implants.
• Pregnancy diagnosis.
• Counseling and referrals.

Services for males include: 

• Physical examination.
• Instruction for testicular self-exams.
• Examination of the prostate, as appropriate.
• Screening for sexually transmitted infections.
• Education and counseling on methods to prevent pregnancy.
• Counseling and referrals.  

• Recognize and prevent communicable disease outbreaks such as food and waterborne illness, tuberculosis, and childhood diseases.
• Report a disease - related issue locally by calling (405) 372-8200. After hours, call (405) 426-8710 to speak with an Acute Disease Service epidemiologist. 
  

• County health department staff identify and treat tuberculosis clients and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the occurrence and transmission of tuberculosis.
• Skin testing is provided at no charge for those with a doctor’s order, at the request of a rehab facility, those residing in homeless shelters, or a known contact to an active TB case.  Others may receive skin testing for a charge of $15.  

Sexually transmitted infections (STI) are infections that can be passed on from one person to another during sexual contact.  They are caused by a variety of organisms including bacteria, viruses, protozoans and parasites. 

• Everyone who has been sexually active is encouraged to get tested routinely
• Testing is always confidential.

The Payne County Health Department provides free and confidential testing, evaluation, health education and treatment of the following STI’s

• Gonorrhea
• Chlamydia
• Syphilis
• Human Immunodeficiency Virus

Rapid Start and PrEP Program

• Provides providers a way to connect their clients with critical HIV treatment and preventive services.  This includes Rapid Start for clients newly diagnosed with HIV and PrEP for HIV-negative clients who could benefit from pre-exposure prophylaxis. 

Highlights of the PrEP program

• The nurse practitioners take care of all labs, exams and medications free of charge.
• Assistance with connection to Ready, Set, PrEP or Advancing Access to continue to receive medication free of charge.
• PrEP clients are seen by the nurse practitioners every three months for follow-up and medication refills, at home visits, virtual visits or in a county health department. 

Highlights of the Rapid Start program

• No insurance or citizenship status is required.
• First month of medication is free.
• Initial screening/exam is free.
• Connection to case management.
• Enrollment in the Oklahoma HIV Drug Assistance Program
• Connection to continuity of care.  

We offer immunizations for children as well as select immunizations for children as well as select immunizations for adults that may require a minimum fee to protect individuals from serious communicable diseases.

We utilize the Oklahoma State Immunization Information System (OSIIS), a statewide immunization registry operated by the Oklahoma State Department of Health for management of immunization records.
