Currently, staff is also involved in several state level initiatives and legislatively mandated task forces focused on the issue of childhood obesity.

Advanced Practice Nurses (APRNs) in some areas of the state provide well child care and treatment for minor acute illnesses for ages 0-18 years in county health departments. Providers use the American Academy of Pediatrics' Bright Futures Guidelines to assure care is evidence-based and family-centered.

Who is eligible?
Clinical services are targeted to children and adolescents at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Level (FPL) who are uninsured or underinsured for health care services. Families will not be charged for services.
