At Atoka County Health Department we offer numerous programs and services:

  • WIC (Women, Infants & Children Supplemental Nutrition Program)
  • Adult and Childhood Immunizations and Tuberculosis testing
  • Environmental Health (inspections, restaurant complaints, water contamination, food handling)
  • Family Planning  and Women services (birth control, pregnancy testing, pap smear)

Special Announcements

The Pittsburg County Health Department will be closed the following days in 2016: January 1 (New Year's Day; January 18 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day); February 15 (President's Day); May 30 (Memorial Day); July 4 (Independence Day); September 5 (Labor Day); November 11 (Veteran's Day); November 24-25 (Thanksgiving); and December 26-27 (Christmas). Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) has received confirmation that 12 Oklahoma residents have acquired Zika during international travel to countries experiencing local transmission of the virus. One of the 12 individuals is a pregnant woman.

Atoka County is located in Southeastern Oklahoma, centrally located just two short hours from Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Dallas. The county is known for hunting, fishing, annual Bluegrass concert, antique car show, sand drag races.

The Atoka County Health Department was established in 1952. Fifty-six years later, the Health Department continues to be a vital asset in the community for public health and emergency preparedness.
