The Oklahoma State Department of Education is excited to welcome Lindel Fields
Superintendent Fields: “A new day for Oklahoma Students”
Oklahoma City, OK– This week, Governor Stitt announced the appointment of Lindel Fields as Oklahoma’s new State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
“Our mission is clear: it’s a new day for Oklahoma students, and I am laser-focused on turning the ship around,” said State Superintendent Lindel Fields. “As I transition into this role, I want to reassure the public that I will fight every day for our students, parents, and teachers, while staying true to the values of all Oklahomans.”
In the coming weeks, Superintendent Fields is committed to stabilizing internal pressures, strengthening communication, and building relationships with staff at every level. He will also be engaging directly with the public—hosting town halls, holding one-on-one meetings, and conducting surveys—to ensure every voice is heard in shaping the future of Oklahoma education.
“The Oklahoma State Department of Education is excited about this transition, and is looking forward to continuing the work being done on behalf of Oklahoma students. We are committed to maintaining transparency and open communication. I encourage you to reach out with any questions as we move forward together. Please grant us your patience as we navigate this transition,” said Superintendent Fields.
