OSDE Prioritizing safety in the aftermath of high winds and fires threatening communities
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Today, the OSDE extends its gratitude to all first responders for their dedication to keeping Oklahomans safe. Our top priority is the safety of families affected by wildfires across the state. The State Department of Education (SDE) is actively monitoring the situation and working to provide families with the necessary resources and information during this challenging time.
“Our prayers are with Oklahoma’s students, families, teachers, administrators, and first responders this morning,” said State Superintendent Ryan Walters. “The high winds and wildfires that swept through our state yesterday were devastating, but Oklahoma is a land of resilience. I have no doubt that our dedicated professionals will continue to protect our communities and lead the way toward recovery.”
