Leading Oklahoma’s Schools with Parents, Values, and Accountability
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Today, Superintendent Ryan Walters reaffirms his commitment to strengthening Oklahoma’s education system by continuing to empower parents, restore traditional values in schools, and hold teacher unions accountable. His leadership ensures that Oklahoma’s students remain on the path to success.
Walters' leadership reinforces three core priorities:
Parent Empowerment: Oklahoma families remain in control of their children’s education. With expanded school choice and stronger accountability for local school boards, Walters ensures that parents, not bureaucrats, have the final say in their children's education.
Restoring Oklahoma and American Values in Schools: With strong Social Studies standards in place, Oklahoma classrooms continue to foster patriotism, respect for our nation, and the Judeo-Christian values that built America. Schools have moved away from radical, anti-American curricula and returned to foundational principles.
Reining in Teacher Unions: Walters prioritizes performance-based bonuses to reward top educators and has worked to curb the influence of teacher unions that put politics over students. The focus remains on compensating the best teachers based on merit.
"The days of special interests running our schools are over," said Superintendent Ryan Walters. "We’re holding the system accountable and keeping classrooms focused on education, not woke activism. The unions and bureaucrats will fight us, but we won’t back down. Oklahoma’s students deserve better, and we will deliver."
Under Walters’ leadership, Oklahoma’s schools remain safer, more transparent, and better positioned to help students succeed. The fight continues to ensure every child receives the education they deserve.
