Oklahoma Leads Nation with First-of-Its-Kind Aeronautic Standards

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Today, the Oklahoma State Department of Education announced the adoption of the nation’s first 3-Dimensional Aeronautic Standards, a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary for success in the rapidly expanding aerospace industry.

“Oklahoma is once again leading the way in innovation,” said State Superintendent Ryan Walters. “We are preparing our students to become the workforce of the future and build a more perfect union while chasing their American Dreams.”

3-Dimensional Aeronautic Standards integrate core scientific principles—such as physics and physical science—into aviation education, filling an existing gap in secondary aeronautics instruction. They also provide students with hands-on, real-world learning opportunities that will open doors to high-paying, high-demand aerospace careers.

“Oklahoma is known for turning out Astronauts, including the first Native American in space, and now we have the resources to cultivate the next great aeronautic mind,” added Walters.
