Walters Champions National School Choice Week

Friday, January 31, 2025

Oklahoma City, Okla – State Superintendent Ryan Walters is honoring the beginning of School Choice Week, by supporting events throughout the nation celebrating parental choice and empowerment in education. National School Choice Week runs from January 26 to February 1. OSDE will spotlight a school choice theme each day this week:

Monday: What is School Choice/ National School Choice Week
Tuesday: Leveling the playing field
Wednesday: Fact vs. Myth
Thursday: Parents’ voices matter
Friday: Why school choice matters.

“OSDE is committed to expanding school choice for all Oklahomans, and we’ll never stop fighting the woke liberal policies that attempt to undermine our charge to deliver World-Class education to our students and their parents,” said Walters. “The next generation deserves a bright and prosperous future, and we know when parents have the ability to choose the educational option that is best for their kids, we all win. We’re proud to join millions of parents across America as we join this new administration in Washington DC to fight for education choice. OSDE is proud that we created the Office of School Choice, and we will not rest until every child has access to the best education available.”

This year marks the 15th anniversary of National School Choice Week, which will include more than 27,000 activities and events nationwide aimed at celebrating and raising awareness of educational opportunities for students and their families.
