New tool provides comprehensive school information promoting education choice

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters today announced the launch of a new school search feature on the Oklahoma School Report Cards website (www.oklaschools.com) to further support school choice and help parents make informed decisions about their child’s education.

With this enhanced tool, parents can enter their home address and search for schools within a 2- to 20-mile radius. The interactive map displays both public and non-public schools alongside a searchable list, providing families with essential details about available school options.

“This is a game-changer for Oklahoma families,” said State Superintendent Ryan Walters. “Parents deserve full transparency when choosing the best school for their child, and this tool puts that power in their hands. We are ensuring every family has the resources to explore all educational options, from public schools to private institutions participating in school choice programs.”

Key features of the site include:

● Public School Ratings – Parents can view A-F letter grades based on multiple academic indicators to assess school performance and compare options.

● Private School Information – Pages for non-public schools include basic details and whether the school participates in the Lindsey Nicole Henry (LNH) Scholarship program or is eligible for the Parent Choice Tax Credit.

● Customizable Searches – Families can explore schools by county, Oklahoma legislative districts, U.S. congressional districts, and Oklahoma tribal nations using a drop-down menu.

This enhancement builds on the OSDE’s commitment to expanding school choice and educational transparency. To explore the new features, visit www.oklaschools.com
