Communication has been clear, consistent, and transparent with school administrators.
Oklahoma City, OK – Last week OSDE made an announcement that we are ending end-of-year-testing as we currently know it. Among the overwhelmingly positive responses we’ve received from parents, students, teachers, superintendents, and the public. I’ve also seen claims that districts have been left in the dark on what to expect. These claims are simply not true.
Over the past two weeks, OSDE has delivered multiple messages, hosted a series of webinars, and made the information publicly available on the OSDE website to ensure superintendents and administrators have every detail they need on end-of-year testing.
Here’s the facts:
- Message 1: Sent August 8 at 9:48 a.m. to 647 recipients with a 97% delivery rate and 67% open rate.
- Message 2: Sent August 12 at 2:21 p.m. to 1,896 recipients with a 95% delivery rate and 55% open rate.
- Message 3: An invite to 6 webinars sent August 8 at 3:58 p.m. to 974 recipients with a 97% delivery rate and 82% open rate. These webinars were attended by 375 participants — representing roughly 70% of all superintendents across the state.
“This department has made it a priority to be transparent,” said State Superintendent Ryan Walters. “The numbers don’t lie — we are getting the information out, and we are doing it directly and consistently. Anyone claiming otherwise is simply not telling the truth.”
As you can see, OSDE has been very open to districts about the progress and what they should expect this coming school year. We will continue to provide timely updates to district leaders and parents, ensuring that no one is left uninformed when it comes to the education of our students.
