Oklahoma State Department of Education Launches New Comparison Tool to Empower Districts and Families

Friday, December 05, 2025

Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) announced the release of a new comparison tool on the state's school dashboard, designed to make it easier for educators, families, and community members to evaluate school performance and engage in meaningful conversations about student outcomes.

The school comparison tool provides users with the opportunity to select multiple schools and view a side-by-side comparison of results on report card metrics. This feature may be especially helpful for parents when deciding among schools.

More importantly, schools can use the tool to identify nearby schools that appear to be performing better in certain areas. School leaders can then pinpoint opportunities for growth and collaborate with colleagues to identify effective practices that may lead to improved performance in future years.

Dr. Lesa Rohrer, Director of Assessment and High School Math and Science at Mustang Public Schools, praised the tool's impact.

"I love the new comparison tool. It has been a game changer for our conversations," said Dr. Rohrer. "It really is a game changer."

The tool was developed with user-friendliness in mind, incorporating feedback from districts to ensure the dashboard is intuitive and effective.

This new feature reflects OSDE's commitment to equipping schools and families with accessible tools that foster collaboration and drive student success. It is a clear example of the agency's ongoing mission to serve and to support Oklahoma's education community.

The comparison tool is now live on the OSDE dashboard and available to the public.

Reporters interested in learning more or speaking with Dr. Rohrer about the tool's impact are encouraged to contact the OSDE Communications Office.
