If you already have an Oklahoma ID Card, you can renew or replace it online or in person at a Licensed Operator or a Service Oklahoma Licensing Office.

Eligibility

You ARE eligible to renew your State ID card if the following is true:

You have previously been issued an Oklahoma State ID


You're NOT eligible to renew if either of the following are true:

Your ID card has been expired for more than 3 years

 You will need to apply for a new State ID card.

Entering with Immigration Documents

If you are in this country on immigration documents (with exception of the Permanent Resident card), you must take your license, along with your immigration documents, to a Licensing Office location.



Steps to Renew Your State ID In-Person


Bring the following documents to your visit:

  • Primary ID - For IDs that are valid or have been expired for less than 1 year, the only documentation you need is a form of Primary ID.
  • State-issued birth certificate, valid U.S. passport, or permanent resident card - For IDs that have been expired for more than 1 year, you will need to bring one of documents listed above. No other form of identification will be accepted.
  • Name Change Document (if applicable) - If the last name to be entered on the Oklahoma License is different from the name on the Primary ID, the applicant must bring in a document showing a legal name change.

Are You REAL ID Ready?

Beginning May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant Driver License or ID card, or a valid federal identification document (i.e. US Passport) will be required for you to fly within the U.S. or visit a federal facility.

4-year credential option

  • Renewal: $25.00
  • Replacement: $25.00

8-year credential option

  • Renewal: $50.00
  • Replacement: $25.00

Note
Not all Service Oklahoma Licensing Office locations accept cash payments. If you plan to pay in cash, please contact the location in advance to verify they can accept cash.

Please allow up to 30 days for your State ID card to arrive.

If you have not received your ID within 30 days, please reach out by calling us at (405) 522-7000 and include the following details:

 

  • First and Last name with Date of Birth of the applicant
  • OR the License/ID number
  • For online applications, Submit ID/FS-Case Number

Yes, if your online renewal or replacement has been denied, you will receive a refund for the credential fee, less the credit card processing fee. Please note, a credit card refund may take up to 10 business days to reflect on your statement.
