Temporary Permit
Non-residents temporarily operating commercial vehicles in Oklahoma and residents temporarily utilizing their vehicle in a commercial capacity are subject to temporary permits.
Types of Temporary Permits
Temporary Commercial Permit
Trucks, truck tractors, trailers and motor buses registered out-of-state and owned by non-residents, or operating in Oklahoma on a temporary basis may not exceed ninety days. Non-residents using their vehicle for hire or commercial purposes may obtain a permit to operate in Oklahoma for thirty, sixty or ninety days.
Special Mobilized Machinery
Special Mobilized Machinery (SMM) registered in another state and utilized for temporary service in this state may operate by temporary permit for not more than thirty days in any calendar year. Harvest Permit
Registered Oklahoma farm trucks used during grain harvest or other seasonal farming activities for the purpose of hauling farm products other than his/her own may obtain a permit to operate in this state for thirty, sixty, or ninety days.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) is the issuing authority for harvest permits to vehicles registered in another state.
Towing Permit
Any person pulling or towing a vehicle into or through Oklahoma, intended to be resold, will need to first obtain a thirty day towing permit. One or more of the towed vehicle’s wheels must be touching the ground.
72-Hour Permit
Provides temporary registration to certain vehicles that are not registered in Oklahoma. These permits are not available from Service Oklahoma or Licensed Operators. Please see the Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s website Click here for more information.
Overweight Axle Permit

The laden weight requested by the applicant is to be listed on the permit, when applicable, as well as the owner’s name, vehicle description, permit issue date, expiration date, and permit period.

Your fees will be finalized. Once payment is made and your documents are processed, you will be given a temporary permit to keep within your vehicle at all times.
